Congregation Anshei Libovitz is established.

The congregation meets initially at 189 Hanover Street. It moves to 11 Hanover Street in 1897, to the corner of Leverett Street and Barton Street ca. 1900, then to 8 Smith Court in 1904. The congregation is dissolved in 1972. The building on Smith Court, originally the African Meeting House, is now a museum.
